Tools for Statistics Instruction using R and Shiny - Rudiments of Maximum Likelihood

Authors: Bruce Dudek (University at Albany) and Jason Bryer (City University of New York)

Built using Shiny by Rstudio and R, the Statistical Programming Language.

Description:

This app accompanies an introductory tutorial Document on Maximum Likelihood Estimation. It permits visualization of a simple sampling situation using the binomial distribution. The likelihood distribution function is based on a specified number of successes in N binomial trials. The user can change the highlighted parameter value in the likelihood distribution as see the accompanying binomial distribution (using the same chosen parameter). The same specified number of successes is highlighted in that distribution.
